Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about how Immortal Domains works, from deposits and refunds to security and supported domain extensions.
Yes. The deposit is refundable. Withdraw whatever's left at any time โ auto-renewal simply stops when you do. Fees already used on past renewals aren't returned (they did their job).
Your domain still renews โ we cover it from the deposit principal. Your dashboard shows your runway at all times. No surprises, ever.
We're starting with the most popular TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .io, .xyz and more. We're expanding by demand โ if yours isn't listed during onboarding, email us and we'll prioritize it.
Community governance via DAO is planned for the future โ so early supporters have a say in how we evolve risk parameters and strategy decisions. There's no token sale or financial instrument right now. Just a waitlist and a product that works.
We work through accredited global registrar partners via a reseller panel. This gives us the infrastructure to manage renewals programmatically and accept crypto payments โ without building a registrar from scratch.
We use established, audited stablecoin yield protocols โ but no DeFi strategy is risk-free. Smart contract bugs and counterparty failures are real risks. We mitigate this through diversification, conservative strategy selection, and using only battle-tested protocols. Full risk disclosures are provided at onboarding.
The deposit amount depends on your TLD's renewal fee and current yield rates. It needs to be large enough that yield realistically covers renewals for many years โ so you don't erode principal quickly. ~$300 is the average estimate for common TLDs. High-demand TLDs (.io, for example) may require more. We'll show you the exact number during onboarding.
As long as your deposit is active and has enough balance, your domain renews automatically. Our goal is to make domain loss due to payment failure technically impossible. If you withdraw your deposit, renewals stop โ that's your choice to make.
We deploy deposits into conservative stablecoin yield strategies using established, audited DeFi protocols. We prioritize capital preservation over high returns. The yield is designed to cover renewal fees year after year. If yields fall short temporarily, renewals are covered from your deposit principal โ you always see the remaining runway in your dashboard.
Your deposit is always refundable and accessible. If the service ever needs to wind down, all users would be notified well in advance, deposits would be returned, and domains would be transferred back to standard management with your registrar. We're building with transparency and user control as core principles.
Each domain requires its own deposit, since renewal fees and timing vary by TLD and registration date. However, we're building portfolio management tools that let you oversee all your domains from a single dashboard and manage deposits efficiently at scale.
Yes. You transfer your domain into our reseller management panel (using standard domain transfer procedures). Once transferred and your deposit is active, auto-renewal takes over. You maintain full ownership and can transfer out anytime.
